So today's weather has us all taking cover to the warmth and solitude that is our homes. It is 3:48pm and it's freezing rain outside, thus making any attempt of going for a walk... impossible. I would much rather snow falling, than rain, simply because, you can walk in the snow, and not get too too wet, but rain... FORGET ABOUT IT! lol
Over the last few days, I have sent out countless amount of e-mail to various companies, seeking donations for the Kits. One Monday, I received a response from one of those companies in the form of a donation of toothbrushes and Floss, take a look!
Thank you SUNSTAR for the donation of Toothbrushes & Floss!! |
I had a meeting with the Quilters Guild of Cornwall, and they have decided to donate some quilts. What a fabulous bunch of women i had the opportunity to speak with. The only thing that will change, is that the Kit crusade will be happening a little longer that I had originally anticipated. The ladies will not be able to get any quilts to me in the time frame I had requested, so look like i will have a little longer to pursue some leads, I'm talking like September October. Understandable, some of these quilts take about 120-200 hours to produce. They are simply gorgeous also.
I had also received confirmation from the Quilters Guild in Ottawa, who will also be donating some quilts. This is simply one of the most exciting ventures I have done.
A few more donations come in the last little bit, here they are.
With proper recognition being sent out to those who have donated. I failed to mention the very first donation I received from Trisha Hickey, who donated socks, puzzles, puzzle books, toothbrushes and the like. Also to Krispy Kernals for donating some salty snacks.
Thank you Krispy Kernals, salty snacks are the way to go! |
This donation is from an old friend and well pretty much a family member from my childhood. This isn't a great picture, but there are so many wonderful things in this donation, including Soaps, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors and shaving cream. I couldn't believe it when she called me to tell me of the wonderful donation she had for me. Take a tiny peek into this lovely souls donation...
Thank you Jeanine Lalonde, from the bottom of my heart. <3 |
This most recent donation has come all the way from the U.S. from a very upstanding NFL player, who's Son Gunnar was diagnosed with CF, and he's just a super soul to know. Not that I know him personally, but through his foundation in fighting CF, I can't complain. Thank you so much to the Boomer Esiason Foundation for the donation. Knowing there is a famous athlete who's son lives with CF, kind of makes it more real, knowing that it's not just us common folk who live with CF every single day.
Thank you Boomer Esiason Foundation - Silicon bracelets |
I keep pestering, and pestering for donation, and as they trickle in, I'll tell you about them.
Like right now, thank you to Carol-Ann Baxter of Archie's Golf in Cornwall, for donating socks to the project. I can rest night knowing no ones feet will be cold. Woohoo!! and short Line Convenience will be donating Swedish Fish and Berries... I'm in heaven!
Love you all
Ali
