I am no longer watching my niece anymore she is now going to daycare, but we call it school.
So you know how a parent loves their child unconditionally, well is it possible that the love an Auntie or an uncle has for their niece or nephew can be as overwhelming. I cried for a few days after seeing that angel 4 days a week for the last 52 weeks. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. Look at this face, how can you not miss her...
I was a basket case, as I said to my sister's audience at her wedding. i am a blubbering boob!
Most days I am ok. But then I see her and it's all crazy. She makes me feel like the best person in the world. She shakes my soul with her laughter and brings tears to my eyes when she lays her head on my shoulder. Picking her up from school (daycare) it's the most exciting thing I have ever experienced.
She was watching in the direction her Dad picked her up, but he wasn't there. She heard a door closed, looked in my direction and saw me heading towards her. She screamed and then said "Ayay" That made me run towards her. I gave the child care provider there my divers licence to show who I was.
Olivia was wearing her purple Columbia hat, her rubber boots and her light blue jacket that I bought for her. The playground supervisor opened the door and she came running, they couldn't open it fast enough for her. She was in my arms, where I knew she was my little angel.
I needed to put her down to sign things, but she would let me. She held on like someone was going to take her away from me.
She gave me the biggest hug, and when she does that she taps our back to let her know she's ok.
The best days of my life involve her.
Love you to the moon and back Olivia!
