What's New? What's New with you!

Well, I want to wish Cara all the best with Pearl, her new 75 pound puppy. She is simply gorgeous. I love, love love chocolate labs. I am happy for you guys.

So I think I will add some pictures of my trip to Vancouver now, seeing as they are way out of date now. It's been a month and I haven't shown you anything. So here we go! This is what's new with me, as of the last month.

"Roo" from Australia

This is "ROO", I am sure you had all heard about the controversy regarding this little guy, well he isn't so little really, he took up 3 levels of the building, but he is cute, and we are all glad the IOC decided to let him stay. He's fun, not controversial. Stranger and stupider things have happened during the Olympics, let the athletes live in peace and harmony with him.

"The Canadian Moose" our athletes Mascot

By the end of the Olympics all the Athletes have signed him. Some in places that cannot be mentioned here. For the love of Animals, have a little consideration for his/her private areas. He's made of Fiberglass, and was a fun addition to the village.

"Gold Medal Arches"

This is what i would walk by everyday to go to work. Talk about intimidation. How can you not want a Big Mac with hot golden fries. I know I did, but they wouldn't let us have them for free, they actually increased their prices. Propaganda I tell you... Propaganda.

"Ali & Linda"

This is one of my good friends that i met out west. Her and i worked pretty much every shift together, and it was hilarious. On the shifts we worked outside, we did aerobics to keep warm, she used to be an instructor, and she was pretty impressed at my aerobics skills. lol

"Ali & Johanna"

Another one of my favorite people in Vancouver, we got along really well, and had a great time welcoming the athletes home from a long day of practice or training. They can be really crabby coming home, but when you say welcome home,t heir tune changes quite quickly.

There are so many pictures that I want to share, so you'll have to go to my facebook account to see them all. Just look for Alison Proulx, and add me as a friend, and I will add you. I have a limited profile, so you won't just be able to see them. You'll have to be like everyone else, and wait patiently.

Some call it British Columbia Canada,
but we call it HOME!

Olympic wrap-up

Well, there you have it, ladies and gents. CANADA has successfully kicked butt. We have a record breaking 14 GOLD medals. The most in Olympic history and the most in history of host countries.

Did you all see the nail biter of a game last night, holy crap, I nearly fell off my chair. Poor little Harrison will never forget that day. Even though he's only 5 months old, he's a trooper, slept through most of our shouting. Good little man! He's adorable. Matt & Kristiina, you make good babies.

Anyhow, as you might have already guessed, I managed to get out of Vancouver, before the traffic of people and athletes leave. Sometimes, you just have to do what needs to be done. And that was what I had to do. I can now safely say that I am no longer a smurf.

Hey you should all check out my Team Cornwall Card online, and you can email me and see what I am up to.

Life is amazing, I celebrated my one year anniversary in style. I was off, and had a Skype video conversation with my whole family, and friends. Talk about wishing you were home to see everyone. The up side to this whole thing was that my Aunt and Uncle, and cousins, who weren't able to be with me during the surgery, or the day of, physically. Were there to celebrate with me, for my one year.

I will post pictures when I can, and I hope that is soon. I need to download them all, all 400 of them. And what really sucks, is that none of them are of athletes as I was not allowed to take their pictures. Working in the Village you have to abide by the rules, and I did. I am a good girl sometimes. haha

The highlight of my last shift, was that the Canadians beat the Russians 7-3, and the Russians were the last group I scanned in. YES I saw and chatted a little with Ovechkin. He's got nice eyes, and that's about it. haha I'll have better updates soon, as I scan through my journal to see that I wrote, and who I met. The Russians were a solid part of my experience, as i saw them the most.

Write again soon.

Cheers
Ali
